"Curse of the Totem" is a gripping tale rooted in 13th-century Borneo sacrificial rituals, following Dr. Sani's quest to find his wife who vanished during a genealogy expedition to explore the Jerunei 'Burial Poles' of the indigenous Melanau tribe. These burial poles, which still stand today as gravestones, symbolize the tragic loss of lives sacrificed for the prosperity of noble classes; human sacrifices were banned in Sarawak Province in the 18th century. As Dr. Sani and his team venture into the Borneo jungle seeking answers, they encounter inexplicable hallucinations, malevolent disturbances, and haunting spirits of the deceased, with one team member ultimately succumbing to possession by dark forces.
